Alarm using a Temboo choreo
The objective of this article is to present an IoT alarm device. After pressing a push button, a wifi connection will ask Temboo to send an Email to a list of persons to warn them that something happened.
More in detail, you first need to create an account on Temboo site. Then configure your account as required. To create the appropriate chores, go to the left column and choose Google/Gmail/SendEmail as depicted below :
The important point is that you’ll be asked to go for double authentication with Google.
On the chores page, you may fill in the blanks for your mail, password and the format of the message you want to send each time. When done, you can save this profile which is able to be called simply in your Arduino Ide code rather than adding more lines in your sketch.
Once done with Temboo, I’ve used the equivalent of Wemos D1 mini bought here. So much easier to flash than ESP8266-01, you can program it using arduino type code and Lua as well.
The code can be downloaded on my github. Caution, the pins’ names are a bit different from Arduino board. Check the scheme here and use « D8 » instead of « 8 » for the digitalRead for instance.
